Something Old into Something New

I have a skirt that I bought a long time ago, probably before I was even married. It has never fit right. It was way too long and I did not like wearing it. But I kept it thinking it would be an easy fix...well years later I finally did it.

I finally cut it off and hemmed it up and I have a cute new skirt to go with my boots.

I'm glad I finally did it. I bought the boots a couple weeks ago to go with my black skirt and the next day I went to get dressed for church and the zipper in my black skirt broke, so now I need to replace a zipper.

Stacker blocks

This is what I ended up doing with my blocks.
I {LOVE} vinyl!

Vinyl on the walls

After using vinyl last year for Christmas and learning how fun and easy it was I really wanted to put vinyl on my walls. But then we put our house up for sale and I figured what's the point now. So I have been waiting to vinyl the walls. Here is the wall before. It's the wall across from the front door. I hung the girls pictures there and yes I know there are terribly outdated...I am working on that.

Here is the after. It was an easy project. Now I am just trying to decide what other quotes and sayings I want on the walls.

A couple finished projects

I put numbers on my countdown blocks. Just in case you wanted to know Block One has numbers 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and Block Two has 0, 1, 2, 6, 7, 8 (use a 6 that can be turned over for a 9)
I used orange and black paper that I all ready had, I had the vinyl and I all ready had the wood. This project cost me $0. I think I do need to add some Halloween stickers though. Some of my paper is a little plain.
Sorry not the best of pictures. Another Free project. I dug up some paint and I had the wood and vinyl. A 2x4 is not very expensive, so if you buy one you will get so many projects out of it. If I were to figure how much this project cost, it would be around 50 cents.

My To Do List

I am finally gettin my craft on again...It has been a long time. I have done a few things here and there, but now that I have more space in our own house I am lovin in. I have some new things to make for the house and some new things for the holidays.
Not sure what I am putting on these yet...probably Autumn, Harvest, Giving Thanks

These will say BOO

Not sure on this one yet

This is my cute Halloween countdown. I just need to put the numbers on it and finish the base.

I have one almost done for Christmas too.

Can you guess what this will be? A growth chart. It will have the line from Dr. Suess's Horton Hears a Who "A person's a person no matter how small"

Can you guess this one? I am putting clips on each one of these and the girls name on each of them. They will be for the girls artwork. They will look like this.

I bought this at Wood Connection last week . I needed more decor on top of my cabinets...I have more in this house.

I bought this at Wood Connection too. I have a board to mount it too. It sits on my kitchen counter.

And I found this Project at Brown Paper Packages and I have to make it too. I have the blocks cut for it I just need to sand them.
I think this should keep me busy for a while...I have a few other things I may be
adding to the list too.
Check out my new blog roll. Those ladies have some cute stuff.

More new skirts..

Here are the two new skirts I bought material for a few weeks ago. The black one below is corduroy material with ribbon around the bottom. I made them to go with the red sweaters they wore with the Christmas skirts. The skirts I originally made to go with the sweaters were black with white polka dots and the black bled onto the dots and turned them gray on the 2nd wash. It didn't bleed on the first wash.

Here is the other skirt. I made a shirt to go with them

I am having lots of fun sewing for the girls. I ordered some leggings a few weeks ago on clearance so they can wear skirt with leggings under them too. I really think I can save some money on the girls wardrobe and make things simple and cute.

I made one of these today..

This one pictured is made by The Carseat Canopy. I didn't get a picture of the one I made. I used the same striped fabric, but I used a coordinating polka dot on the back. Super easy and super cute.

What have I been doing...

a little bit of everything. I didn't realize that it has been 2 months since I posted on this blog.
I promise I haven't been being lazy.

Ok, first off...the super cute dress I made for my niece for Christmas that I didn't ever take pictures of. At the beginning of January I went and bought all the stuff to make my girls and my other niece all the same dress. But I was still suffering from post Christmas burn out. So the dresses are just being made. I am a little behind, since Syd's birthday was a month ago. Sorry, you will get it soon. I think it is cute. I bought shirts and cut them off and added the fabric to the bottom and added a little ric rac to it. I am almost done with them. I need to hurry..since I just bought more fabric today to make the girls each two more skirts.
I had to have my neighbor cut the wood for these. They are 4x4 blocks. My saw wouldn't open that wide.
I am loving the Cricut and vinyl. I can't believe I had the Cricut for over a year before I tried vinyl. I made a bunch of Valentine's stuff since I didn't have much.

I didn't finish everything. This frame I mod podged is going to have a stitched heart in the middle of it. Maybe next year.
And I even got a start on my St. Patty's Day decor.
