No crib for his bed..

I was wanting a manger this year, but forgot about making it until I realized I had the Christmas Sharing time in Primary. So I whipped this baby up this week and actually displayed it at RS on Tuesday night too.
This is our new Christmas Tradition. For the month of December the girls will have to do service, be nice to each other, and do what they are told and they will earn pieces of straw to put in the manger. Hopefully they will have the manger full enough by Christmas to make a soft bed for Baby Jesus to sleep on.

JOY to the World

Look at my fabulous new Christmas decor for my front room. I got the idea from HERE at Shanty 2 Chic. They have some fabulous ideas over there. I couldn't find the smaller candlestick they used on the O, so I had to use three of the same size.

My next project

Look at my new shelf in all it's dusty glory. It's being painted in the garage and is almost done .

My First Refinish

Remember this bench.
I picked it up from DI really cheap. I knew it could look great with some new paint.

Here it is now. I still need to put a new cushion on it. I totally forgot to get some when I went to the fabric store yesterday. But it still looks great.

I love the Shanty 2 Chic blog. They have great ideas and are the inspiration for some of my most recent projects and my new love for spray paint. They had people post links for some of their Spray Paint Projects...WOW. I have alot more ideas and projects to add to my list.

I {love} my NEW (used) Lamp

It still needs a finial, but I love it. it's amazing what a can of spray paint can do. Next project...the shelf it's on. Picture it black and maybe with fabric mod podged on the top of it. I am loving all these crafty decorating blogs. So many ideas not enough time (or money) to make everything I want.

Boxed Berry Wreaths

Sweetpea over at Brown Paper Packages made this to hang on her wall. I love it! She used a box frame her husband made for her, then she had some wreaths made for her. Since I have a whole red/black thing going on in my living room I decided I wanted one of these on my wall too.

Here is mine. I found a frame at DI I sprayed black and today I finally found berry wreaths for it. Mine is hung on the wall just as you come in my front door. I might need to respray the frame..I just bought some flat black spray yesterday for my lamp. This frame is a little too glossy.

Thrift Store Shoppers Anonymous

I am developing a problem. I went to the DI again yesterday. These are my new finds. That lamp is wood and I all ready painted it black and bought a shade...a few more touches and it will be done. The step stool is for the girls bathroom...picture is painted white with some fabric mod podged on it. And the Shamrock will be painted and I will add some vinyl for St Patty's day.

I am working on the bench I bought...it's looking great!
